KB: Labview Installation

Choose the download rather than the offline install. This is quicker over all and ensures you have the latest version. It will download an exe file which you need to run which then controls the installation of LabVIEW:

Accept the default options and then when asked, choose the software you want to install:

Accept all of the licences:

The options you selected will then install which will take several minutes – up to 15 in our experience:

Once the software has downloaded and installed, you will need to activate your licence. You will need to log in to your National Instruments account, or set one up if you don’t already have one:

From the drop down list, choose “Enter activation codes”

You will then get the opportunity to generate an activation code:

Copy the Computer ID and click on Generate and activation code. This will open a webpage. Complete your details and use our Serial number D11L1036302 and the Computer ID copied in the previous step:

This will generate an activation code which you need to enter in the Activate Software window.

When you enter a valid code the Activate button will turn green. Click that and you should receive a message that Activation was successful.

You will need to reboot to complete installation:
