Installation of Konica Minolta Bizhub printers
We have found that the standard process to install some Minolta printers does not work with Windows 11. This article explains an alternative process which often overcomes the issues.
Instructions
Save this driver to your computer and extract it by right-clicking on the file and selecting “Extract all” and then Extract. A new folder will appear. Make a note of this location as you will need to navigate to it later.
2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners and click on Add Device in the Add a printer or scanner section at the top of the page
3. Windows will return a list of printers it finds on the network available for you to install. Scroll to the bottom of this list and you will see a row labelled “The printer I want isn’t listed”. This is before the list of printers you already have installed and isn’t always easy to see. Click on Add manually
4. Select “Add a printer using an IP address or hostname” and the click Next:
5. Choose TCP/IP Device from the drop-down menu, enter the IP address of the printer and the Port information will automatically populate. Untick the option to detect the driver automatically and then click Next.
(You can find the IP address of your printer in the Network menu on the printer. Common printers are listed at the bottom of this document.)
6. It is likely that Windows will not find the printer. From the Device type drop-down menu, select Minolta Network Printer and click Next
7. Click Have Disk…
And then navigate to the folder you extracted earlier by clicking the Browse button. You will have to navigate through several levels. The driver file is within the x64 folder:
8. Click on the file and then click on Open
You will then be returned to the Install From Disk window. Click OK.
Choose KONICA MINOLTA Universal PS v3.9.2 and click next:
9. Give the printer a meaningful name and click Next:
(This step may take some time)
10. Select Do not share this printer and then click Next:
11. You should now receive the message that you have successfully added the printer. Print a test page to check it works and if it does, click finish. If it doesn’t, contact the helpdesk:
