iPad Enrolment for Workshops

Apple ID: 

  1. You should have received a email to set up a apple id, this will create your user name CRSid@appleid.cam.ac.uk and give you a temporary password. 

  2. Follow the email instructions to set up your ID and create your own password 

Initial Setup

  1. Power on, select language, region and accessibility settings. ‘Set up without another device’ 

  2. Connect to UniOfCam-Guest, enter name and email if prompted.

  3. ‘Data and Privacy’

  4. Continue > ‘Transfer Your Data & Apps’ Don’t Transfer Anything > ‘Remote Management’ Enrol this iPad 

  5. Go through Microsoft Authentication (your @cam.ac.uk email address and password)

  6. ‘Touch ID’ - Set up touch ID later > Don’t use > Enter a passcode 

  7. Log in with your managed AppleID, you will be asked to MFA

  8. Apps will now install…

  9. Enter a passcode for the device, this means you won’t have to enter your AppleID password to unlock the device.

Set up the device with your @cam account

  1. Open Outlook ‘Add account’ and sign in.

  2. Open Edge, skip the introduction screens, and Set as default browser in Settings when prompted.

  3. Return to Edge, check you are signed into a profile (you should see your profile picture or initials in the top left corner of the browser. If not, tap the blank profile icon and ‘Sign in to sync data’, then log in with your @cam account.

    Set up Eduroam:

  4. Navigate to tokens.uis.cam.ac.uk, create a new token for the iPad. Make a note of these details, they are only displayed once. Each device you use should be registered with its own eduroam token.

  5. Open the geteduroam app on the iPad, you may need to install this using Jamf Self Service

  6. Select your organisation by typing ‘university of cam..’ and it should find the correct entry (searching ‘cambridge’ will not return the correct organisation).

  7. Enter the username and password you created in the app.

 

Set up other Apps

8.  Open Teams, it should pick up your account and you won’t have to sign in

9.  Open Jamf Self Service, this is where optional apps will appear, depending on your configuration profile. You can request apps be made available if they are required (speak to your line manager and IT Services).

10.  Google Drive is pre-installed, but will require sign-in as it’s not a Microsoft product, it won’t have picked up your credentials from other apps.

11.  Once you have logged in, you have the option to ‘stay signed in’, which means you will have to MFA less frequently. We recommend this since this device is secured with AppleID and passcode.

 

NODE 4 – Set Up

  1. Create Node4 Account - https://uoc-rds.sysproworkshops.cloud/RDWeb/Pages/en-US/password.aspx

    1. Username is: N4-DM214\L01.<FirstName>.<LastName>

    2. Temporary password: %Welcome2024!

  2. Change password.

    1. Password must be a minimum of 12 characters long.

    2. Password must contain 2 of the following criteria at a minimum:

                                                              i.      Uppercase characters

                                                            ii.      Special characters

                                                          iii.      Numerical characters

  1. Sign into MOM on iPad with account details you just created.
