Using Teams to grant access to files in SharePoint
#SharePoint #Teams #Files #Access #Permissions #Miscrosoft365 #Onboarding #New #User
You will need to know where the desired files are located. Open Teams and click the Files tab, then locate your files.
We see that each Hub’s files are located in the Team PHY_HUBS
The Team owner will need to add the user to the Team where the files are located
Whether an owner or a Member and guest
or as a Member or guestThe new user will get an email welcoming them to the Team.
We recommend that Files found in Teams are worked with in SharePoint in a Browser. Creating a shortcut is the best way to do this. First you will need to open in SharePoint
You will then see in the top right corner of the window:
Click the star to change this to Following.
Click the home icon (the picture not the word!) to take you to the SharePoint start page
Your site will then appear in a few moments and eventually you’ll have a Group box in your Frequent sites section
For the most frequently used subfolders, use a traditional bookmark/favourite in your browser (the recommended MS Edge is pictured). So instead of office.com > SharePoint > PHY_HUBS > Documents > Rutherford > Admin, you have a shortcut in your favourites bar.
